The hottest month of the year here in Texas was an eventful one! Summer vacation drew to a close, kids started school again, and some even moved off to college. Through all these major milestones, we were reminded of how glad we are to work so closely with our clients. Experiencing these special moments is one of the main reasons why we do what we do: it is working with you and helping you work towards the future of your dreams that makes our job worthwhile.
This month, we received the huge news that GDS Wealth Management made the Inc. 5000 list. This honor celebrates the rapid growth and development that we have achieved, even during recent tumultuous financial events. Inc. 5000’s list is nationwide, encompassing companies from a variety of industries. We are thrilled to be recognized on this list, and we cannot wait to see what the next few years hold for GDS. You may have noticed that our team is growing; we are excited to be able to better serve our clients through this continued growth.
Speaking of national recognitions, Glen Smith, our CEO and CIO, was recently featured in an interview with Reuters. This was also featured in Yahoo Finance and MSN News. If you didn’t have a chance to watch it, take a look at our social media channels. Glen provided commentary on the recent market, including tech stocks, investment banking, and the importance of strong portfolios.
Our staff enjoyed a fun evening of team building at a Texas Rangers game, where the 2023 World Series champs played the Minnesota Twins. It was a great game, and we were glad to watch the Rangers play the Twins! We are truly blessed to work with such an amazing group of people. We would not be able to serve our clients without the support of each of our colleagues, and we are always grateful for the opportunity to relax with our work family.
Our human coworkers were not the only ones we spent time with this month. From puppies to silver-whiskered seniors, the GDS pups were happy to celebrate National Dog Day on August 26th. If you missed it, be sure to check out our social media post to see some of our team’s adorable dogs! Our furry friends are such a big part of our lives, and we had a great time showing them some extra love. If you have a dog of your own, call our office and mention this blog post, and we will be happy to gift you a special GDS dog toy!
As August comes to an end, we hope that we’re leaving the 100-degree days behind us! We are looking forward to all that September will bring, and we are grateful for your continued partnership. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to our team at any time. You can visit www.gdswealth.com or call (469) 212-8072.

The Inc. 5000 list ranking was developed by Inc 5000. Companies on the 2024 Inc. 5000 are ranked according to percentage revenue growth from 2020 to 2023. To qualify, companies must have been founded and generating revenue by March 31, 2020. They must be U.S.-based, privately held, for-profit, and independent—not subsidiaries or divisions of other companies—as of December 31, 2023. (Since then, some on the list may have gone public or been acquired.) The minimum revenue required for 2020 is $100,000; the minimum for 2023 is $2 million. As always, Inc. reserves the right to decline applicants for subjective reasons. Growth rates used to determine company rankings were calculated to four decimal places. Each applicant pays a $495 application processing fee. Neither GDS Wealth Management nor any of its Financial Planners or RIA firms pay a fee in exchange for this award/rating.
