A Fresh Look for the Future

There are moments in life when financial decisions carry a weight that’s hard to put into words.

You’ve spent years building a career, a business, a family, a financial life that reflects real sacrifice and intention. When it’s time to make meaningful decisions about what comes next, you deserve more than a standard approach. You deserve an advisor who treats it like the responsibility it is.

That’s what GDS was built around. And after more than two decades of serving clients across the country, we’re introducing a refreshed brand and website that more fully communicates who we are—and the experience we’ve always worked to deliver.

The standard of care hasn’t changed. The way we present it finally matches it.

Why rebrand now?

GDS has always grown through trust. Clients arrive referred by people they respect, and many stay with the firm for years—through market cycles, career changes, retirement, and the kind of life transitions that require a true partner.

Over time, a gap had opened. The way clients described their experience with GDS—the attentiveness, the follow-through, the sense that nothing was being left to chance—wasn’t reflected in how the firm looked.

The brand had drifted from the work.

When we asked whether our outward identity felt as considered as the advice we give, the honest answer was that it didn’t. So we set out to close that gap.

Not by changing who GDS is. By finally presenting it accurately.

The story that drives us.

Our founder, Glen Smith, grew up as the son of missionaries in Ecuador. From an early age, he watched how money shaped lives—the security it could provide, the instability its absence could create. Wealth, in that context, was never abstract. It was something to be handled with care.

When Glen founded GDS, that conviction came with him.

When I founded GDS, it was with a simple conviction from my own story: wealth is not a trophy, but a responsibility to steward carefully across generations. ” – Glen Smith, CEO

He built the firm around the belief that financial advice is a near sacred responsibility. Money handled carelessly fractures families and futures. Money handled with discipline and integrity protects, provides, and gives people the freedom to live the life they worked to build.

That belief shaped the high standard of service we hold ourselves to. If the work carried that kind of weight, the experience of receiving it should reflect that too.

A philosophy of hospitality.

GDS is a Texas-founded wealth management firm, and from the beginning, we approached the client experience the way a great hospitality business approaches its guests.

Not as a metaphor. As a standard.

In hospitality, excellence isn’t measured by what you do when everything goes smoothly. It’s measured by how well you anticipate needs before they’re expressed, how consistently you follow through on what matters, and how the experience makes someone feel—prepared, taken care of, and never left to wonder what’s being missed.

That’s the standard GDS holds itself to every day. Clients aren’t handed a plan and sent on their way. They’re known. We have a deep understanding of their goals, their families, their priorities, and the details that most advisors would overlook. They meet with their advisor six times a year. They hear back promptly. They never have to ask whether something has been handled.

The new brand was designed to communicate that experience before a client ever walks through the door.

Building a brand around our ethos.

The refreshed GDS identity isn’t just a visual update. It’s an expression of the same intention we bring to financial planning; nothing generic, nothing templated, everything considered.

The visual direction carries a deeper message. Clean, deliberate typography reflects our attention to detail. Warm, elevated colors and artistic imagery evokes a sense of elevated care and curation. Space is used generously, the way a well-designed environment signals that what happens inside it matters. Every element was chosen to communicate sophistication without coldness, confidence without arrogance.

This is a brand that reflects the kind of firm that cares deeply about providing clients with the best possible experience.

One that has thought carefully about what a five-star wealth management experience actually looks like—and built everything, from the first conversation to the ongoing relationship, around delivering it.

The industry often defaults to visuals that feel institutional, transactional, built to impress rather than to invite. The GDS rebrand moves in a different direction entirely. It is the visual equivalent of walking into a room and immediately feeling that you’re in good hands.

What hasn’t changed.

The rebrand changes how GDS presents itself. Nothing else.

Our advisors remain fee-only fiduciaries—no commissions, no proprietary products, no recommendation that serves any interest but the client’s. The advice you receive is objective, disciplined, and built entirely around your goals.

Clients will continue working with the same advisors who know their situation in full. Our relationships—which begin with an in-depth discovery conversation and continue through regular touchpoints each year—remains the foundation of everything we do.

“We understand that for many clients, wealth represents years of sacrifice, discipline, and responsibility. Our responsibility is to help protect and steward that with the highest level of care possible.” —Glen Smith, CEO

The firm still manages over $2.2 billion in client assets, still carries a 99% retention rate, and still approaches every engagement with the same quiet discipline that has defined GDS for more than two decades. Clients come for the expertise. They stay because of how the experience feels.

The next chapter.

To the clients who have trusted GDS with their financial lives: thank you. Your confidence in this firm is not something we take for granted. It’s the standard everything here is measured against.

For those encountering GDS for the first time: welcome. The new website reflects the experience that has always been here. We invite you to explore it, learn about our approach, and reach out when you’re ready.

Wealth management done well is one of the most enlightening experiences available to someone who has worked hard to build a meaningful life. It turns complexity into structure, and intention into a plan that holds up over time.

That work has always been done with care at GDS. The new brand simply makes it visible.
